Joel M. and Murray B. Woldman, Partners in Woldman & Woldman, have been acquiring and dealing in fine American antiques since 1974. They have had a keen interest in antiques and fine arts since their childhood years in Cleveland Ohio, when they were first exposed to the fine arts at childrens' classes at the Cleveland Museum of Art. Both Joel and Murray earned Masters degrees and Doctorates in International Relations.

They then entered the U.S Foreign Service, serving in Pakistan and India, respectively. Their travel and experience living abroad in settings of great antiquity and cultural diversity, sharpened their interest in art and architecture.

In 1985, they established the firm of Woldman & Woldman and were soon recognized as major specialists in the field of Classical American furniture. When they began their business, fine Classical furniture and the associated decorative arts were not held in the high esteem they are today. Woldman & Woldman have played a major role in publicizing and building interest among collectors in this previously neglected period by offering fine examples of the style that even the untutored eye can appreciate.

Their most recent article is "Woldman & Woldman in Classical St. Petersburg" in the January 2000 issue of Connoisseurs Quarterly.
