General Description: A Fine Classical Carved Mahogany Split Pedestal Extension Dining Table, probably Philadelphia, circa 1840.

Details: This versatile and handsome dining table opens to receive one to three leaves. It is a 54-inch-wide round table when closed. Each of the leaves adds one foot to the table’s length. A moveable fifth central leg within the split pedestal provides additional support to the table when it is fully extended. The central pedestal is beautifully carved with acanthus leaves and floral rosettes. The four legs terminate in carved lion paws, all on brass caster wheels. Width: (Closed): 54 inches, (fully extended): 99 inches; Height: 30 3/4 inches. Includes a set of custom-made table pads.
