Details: A great design in a square dining table that seats eight and is wonderful for conversation at dinner. Dramatically figured Santo Domingo mahogany leaves. Original brass lion paw casters and hand-wrought iron hardware. All the advantages of a pedestal table but more stable and seating more people in a smaller area. A nearly identical dining table is used in the Family Dining Room in the White House. Secondary woods: birch and white pine. Length: 56 inches; Width: (leaves extended): 58-1/4 inches; (leaves down): 16 inches; Height: 28-1/2 inches.
