A Philadelphia Classical Pier Table

General Description: A handsome classical carved mahogany marble top Pier Table, attributed to Anthony G. Quervelle, Philadelphia, circa 1825.
Details: Front scrolled console supports are finely carved with grapes and vineleaves and acanthus leafage, supported by lion paw feet on a shaped lower shelf with demilune "pie-wedge" inlay, all on lion paw feet. Later marble top. Almost identical to a pier table by Anthony G. Quervelle illustrated in Robert C. Smith, The Furniture of Anthony G. Quervelle: The Pier Tables, Figure 3 in The Magazine Antiques, May 1973. Dimensions: Height: 36-1/4 inches; Width: 43-1/2 inches; Depth: 20-1/2 inches.
